A chain of tragic circumstances led to the death of the captain of a Scottish football club on a Highland estate, it emerged yesterday.
Gordon Lennon, 26, who was the skipper of Dumbarton FC, died in an “extremely unlucky” accident on the 4,000-acre Brahan Highland Country Estate, near Maryburgh, in Easter Ross, on Sunday.

Dumbarton Football Club has confirmed that its captain has been killed in a crash at Brahan, near Maryburgh, Dingwall, while on a family break on Sunday.
The 26-year-old led his side to promotion to Division Two last season.

One dead in off-road accident near Dingwall

A man died in an off-road vehicle accident on Sunday (7 June) at Brahan near Maryburgh, Dingwall.
Emergency services attended the accident at around 4.40pm in which the man had sustained serious injuries, and he was taken to Raigmore Hosital, where he later died.
Police have not released his name until next of kin have been informed.
