Sainsbury’s reveals plans for Elgin store

Press and Journal – Elgin residents met representatives of a supermarket giant at the weekend to hear plans to build their first store in the area and create 500 jobs. Sainsbury’s wants to demolish the former cattle mart in New Elgin Road and build a store and filling station. A pre-application consultation on the issue was held on Friday and Saturday at Elgin Museum Hall. Boards showing information on the proposals and the advantages of having a store at Elgin were available for residents to look at. More than 200 people attended the event.
