Inverness Courier – A LEADING Inverness hotelier has joined the growing chorus to save direct London to Inverness rail links saying axeing it would be like severing the blood vessels from the heart to the rest of the body. Indranil Banerjee, Royal Highland Hotel regional manager, maintains any move to scrap the Highland Chieftain, which provides a daily through service in both directions, would damage the area’s economy and tourism industry. “I think it is unnecessarily stigmatising the region and the city,” he said.
