Daily Record – VETERAN Allan Johnston insists team-mate Willie McLaren is destined for bigger things after his wonder goal sealed the points for Queens. McLaren bagged the third goal for the Doonhamers with a strike right out of the top drawer in the final minute of a one-sided encounter. It capped a terrific Queen of the South performance after goals from Rocco Quinn and on-loan Celtic man Ryan Conroy had them cruising. And Johnston insists gaffer Kenny Brannigan will struggle to hold on to McLaren if he continues to display moments of sheer quality.
