Press and Journal – The parents of two men seriously injured in a Keith blaze spoke of their heartache last night. The fire broke out early on Sunday as a group of friends were drinking and listening to music in one of the holiday homes at Beechtree Park. Kyle Stewart, 18, remains in a critical condition in Glasgow Royal Infirmary. His father, Derek Slater, of Macduff, said his son was still on a ventilator. Mr Slater said: “He is still unable to breathe by himself. The doctors are trying to take his medication down to see if he can breathe by himself but he gets really distressed. “He can tell we’re in the room but he can’t see. His skin is still blistering. He’s not out of the woods yet. He could pick up an infection or go into shock. He’s still in high dependency.”
