Dingwall ready to wake up to business breakfast
A rapidly-growing business organisation that helps small businesses network will open its third ‘branch’ in the north next week.
Dingwall will join Elgin and Inverness to become the most northerly group of the 200-strong business networking organisation, 4Networking, with informal meetings over breakast fortnightly.
4Networking is the fastest growing business networking organisation in the world and on the 22 July, the Marches Restaurant in The Royal British Legion, High Street, Dingwall, will host its fortnightly business breakfasts for the local business population.
Billed as 50 per cent business, 50 per cent social, each meeting follows a set pattern of a 40-second pitch, a 15-minute ‘insight’ talk by a member, and three one-to-one meetings. It’s a formula which is working well across as the group spreads across the country.
Local businesses can now network every week in Inverness, Elgin and Dingwall but also travel to groups in Aberdeen, Perth, Dunfermline and the central belt as well as another 200 groups in the rest of the UK.
Group leader Melanie Newdick, who runs her own event management company, Lean and Green Events, said: “4Networking has grown at an incredible pace with small businesses meeting regularly, getting to know each other, like each and trust each other and then doing business together. They have discovered that in these testing economic times businesses can make real progress by having access to a network of contacts and colleagues. There are now 43,000 members networking online and this is growing by around 100 people per day at present.”
Inverness has been established since the end of March 2010 and has had over 60 different companies visit this group with a core group of members continuing to build key relationships. Visitors can attend up to three meetings without membership. Elgin was launched earlier this month and already has generated a good membership level.
Marketing assistant at Elgin, Marc Hindley, said: “Business networking opportunities are few and far between here in the north, and 4Networking gives local businesspeople a chance to socialise and do business. Travelling to Aberdeen and Edinburgh for a networking opportunity can waste a whole day. With 4Networking, we meet locally and can still spend a whole day in the office.
