Weather doesn’t dampen RockNess spirits
Northern Constabulary are praising festivalgoers who remained in good spirits despite the spell of bad weather at this year’s RockNess mucic festival.
A total of twelve people have been detained for alleged crimes at the event, including drug dealing, minor assault, and breach of the peace, but the number of reported crimes remains low.
Those attending the event have been patient at the entrances while pro-active searches have been carried out in order to ensure the reduction of drugs taken into this years event.
Northern Constabulary reminded revellers that it can take longer than twelve hours for alcohol to leave their system and would ask that those driving home to plan ahead for this.
They also wanted to stress that officers will be targeting those leaving the event who are drink or drug driving, to try and ensure revellers get home safely.
There will be, as with previous years, a large increase of traffic on the roads surrounding Inverness today (Monday) and members of the public are asked to plan their journeys to allow for expected delays.
